Iran Advocates for Resolution of Saudi-Yemen Conflict

by Lilit Oct. 17, 2026

Iran is encouraging peaceful dialogues to resolve the enduring conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, emphasizing diplomatic pathways. According to Esmail Baghaei, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, the nation remains steadfast in promoting dialogue and diplomacy as viable solutions to the Yemeni crisis. Tehran is poised to offer its diplomatic resources to help facilitate conversations between the conflicting parties. Baghaei noted that the prolonged military approaches have resulted in failure, and stressed the importance of respecting Yemen's sovereignty, highlighting the significance of regional unity. Iran maintains that foreign interventions and military methods have a history of failure in resolving the conflict and advocates for a collaborative approach. Iran continues to deny involvement in any alleged attacks by Yemeni forces on Saudi Arabia. The spokesperson urged for necessary respect towards Yemen's sovereignty, aiming at contributing towards a peaceful Middle East. Calling on regional unity, Baghaei encouraged Middle Eastern countries to consolidate efforts in addressing the repercussions of the Yemen conflict. Encouraging a non-military strategy, he lamented the failure of combat strategies until now, and urged for action in alignment with diplomatic values. A return to dialogue and diplomacy is Iran's solution to the Yemen conflict. As tensions have escalated over the years, Tehran has consistently positioned itself as a proponent of peace, advocating for critical dialogue over continued conflict. Emphasizing dialogue as a staple solution, Iran reiterates its position against external interventions. Joined by international bodies, Iran supports a resolution that honors the independence and sovereignty of Yemen. Bridging gaps amongst Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and neighboring countries, Iran's approach seeks to mediate and orchestrate peaceful transitions towards constructive outcomes. Baghaei reiterated that Iran's aspirations are purely diplomatic, recognizing the dire need to heal the geopolitical tensions in the region. By aligning with Yemen on matters of sovereignty and ownership, Iran is pushing for accountable steps in uniting Gulf nations against continuous strife. The importance of stabilizing diplomatic relations in the Middle East is emphasized through Iran's participation in discussions. Saudi Arabia and Yemen are encouraged to engage with Iran to harness diplomatic opportunities, mitigating the longstanding adversities experienced by millions. Esmail Baghaei extended Iran's readiness to partake in these peace efforts, while maintaining that regional dialogue must drive future strategies.
