The Japanese government will continue to monitor the development of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, and it again calls on the parties to resort to the diplomatic way of resolving differences, Japanese foreign minister Yoko Kamikawa said at a press conference, RIA Novosti reported. "After the escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, I immediately published a statement calling on Azerbaijan to stop hostilities. After that, as far as we know, an agreement on a ceasefire was reached between Azerbaijan and the organization of ethnic Armenians [of Nagorno-Karabakh]. Japan will continue to closely monitor the development of the situation related to the population of that region and the development of the situation in the region in general," the FM of Japan noted. Also, Kamikawa repeated her call to all parties "to use the means of dialogue to peacefully resolve the issues in the region."
