The Anaheim Ducks will celebrate the career of Ryan Getzlaf by retiring his number 15 jersey, ensuring that no Duck will wear that number again. This prestigious honor places Getzlaf among the elite, as he joins the ranks of Ducks legends Teemu Selänne, Paul Kariya, and Scott Niedermayer, whose numbers are immortalized at the Honda Center. Ryan Getzlaf’s journey began when he was chosen 19th overall in the renowned 2003 NHL Draft. At the time, he was making his mark with the WHL's Calgary Hitmen, displaying immense potential and earning Gold with Canada's World Junior teams. Getzlaf’s NHL debut came during the 2005-06 season with the then Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Though he didn’t receive Calder Trophy votes after his first season, posting 14 goals and 39 points in 57 games, his potential was undeniable. His breakout came during his sophomore year, when he became instrumental in the Ducks' team success. The Regina native notched 25 goals and 58 points over 82 games, adding seven goals and 17 points in 21 playoff games to help clinch Anaheim's first Stanley Cup.
