132,000 'Skull Strobe' Fireworks Recalled Due to Explosion Hazards

by Lilit July 31, 2026

A massive recall has been issued for over 132,000 'Skull Strobe' fireworks rockets sold across the United States due to potential pre-detonation hazards that could result in serious burn injuries. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Jake's Fireworks, the importer of these products, has initiated the recall following warnings about rockets potentially exploding before they achieve their full height. This poses both explosion and burn hazards, although no injuries have been reported thus far. The rockets, distributed in distinctive black boxes adorned with a skull image, are identified by SKU code 1004351 and have been on the market from March 2025 through June 2026. The fireworks, priced between $12 and $25, were manufactured in China, with retailers advised to cease sales immediately and consumers urged to discontinue usage and seek full refunds. Customers are to return the products either to the purchase location or the closest Jake’s Fireworks store. Jake's Fireworks has set up a toll-free line operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday for affected individuals, alongside an email service and a detailed recall webpage for further assistance. This recall also draws parallels to recent recalls, such as those involving refrigerators linked to fires and contaminated frozen berries.
