Ishkhan Saghatelyan: Continued acts of disobedience despite police actions, more than 200 citizens detained

by Lilit Sept. 25, 2023

Acts of disobedience persist in the capital and various regions, despite the police's use of force. Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), a member of the National Committee, and a deputy of the National Assembly "Armenia" faction, shared this information on his Facebook page. "We currently have more than 200 detained citizens. Opposition MPs and lawyers are working to protect the rights of these citizens," he noted. It's worth noting that acts of disobedience commenced in Yerevan early in the morning, leading to the closure of numerous streets. The Red Berets have begun detaining citizens, including NA deputy Tadevos Avetisyan and former deputy Gagik Minasyan. A significant police presence has gathered in Republic Square. As previously reported by NEWS.am, large-scale demonstrations have unfolded in Yerevan in response to the new Azerbaijani aggression that began on September 19 against Artsakh. Protesters are demanding answers from Armenian authorities regarding their handling of the Artsakh issue. Vazgen Manukyan, the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and a member of the National Committee, announced during a rally held in Republic Square that Armenia will be paralyzed for three days, from early morning until evening.
