There are not many missing people in the town of Askeran in Nagorno-Karabakh, but we have many casualties among the military, Mayor of Askeran Hayk Shamiryan told NEWS.am. "The entire Artsakh is being displaced, including Askeran. In the process, the population is displaced. There are not so many missing people in Askeran, we have many victims, mostly among the military,” he said, adding that the Azerbaijanis are already 200 meters far from Askeran. “When the population of Askeran is completely evacuated, I will be the last to leave, until the last person leaves, I will not leave … Everyone's nervous system is disturbed. No one can imagine what is happening here. Until a people feel it on their skin, they will not imagine how they live here now," Hayk Shamiryan said. He also said that search and rescue operations are still underway in the town.
