YEREVAN, June 22 – A significant shipment of Armenian apricots has reached the European Union, as reported by EU commissioner for enlargement, Marta Kos, on the social platform X. This represents a symbolic step in strengthening economic ties between Armenia and the EU. Kos expressed her gratitude to Armenia’s minister of territorial administration and infrastructure, David Khudatyan, for the gift and for facilitating a productive discussion on the future of Armenia's exports. The meeting occurred in connection with the launch of the Connectivity Agenda Platform. This initiative aims to enhance transport and infrastructure links between Armenia and its neighboring countries, as well as with Europe, which will help Armenian producers diversify their exports and access new markets. Previously, it was announced that Kos plans to visit Yerevan on July 5 to discuss an EU support package for Armenia, particularly given the recent trade restrictions imposed by Russia on various Armenian products. The symbolic arrival of the apricots suggests potential growth in Armenia's ability to enter new European markets through improved infrastructure and logistics solutions. These developments offer a promising outlook for Armenian exports and emphasize the importance of the EU's supportive role in exploring new trading pathways.
