Join Our Team: Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist Position Available
As a pivotal part of our healthcare team, the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist supports both the administrative and clinical needs of our professionals. This role is crucial for maintaining a smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will find themselves in a warm, familial atmosphere, tasked with a variety of responsibilities from patient intake and vital sign monitoring to assisting in medical procedures and performing skilled phlebotomy for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: This involves welcoming patients, updating their health records, measuring vital signs, supporting during procedures, preparing individuals for examinations, and, if qualified, administering injections and vaccinations.
Phlebotomy: Responsibilities include executing blood collections (venipuncture, capillary, and potentially arterial), adhering to safety standards for specimen collection and labeling, ensuring samples are properly handled and stored, and communicating the process to patients.
Administrative Duties: Tasks include scheduling patient appointments, maintaining medical records, managing billing and basic office operations, restocking supplies, fielding phone calls, and handling correspondence.
Laboratory Support: Assisting with specimen processing for tests, equipment upkeep, and possibly conducting basic lab tests.
Patient Education: Instructing patients about the blood draw process and providing guidance for after their visit.
Position Requirements:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, have completed an accredited medical assisting program, and hold a Medical Assistant certification or diploma. Additional qualifications include phlebotomy certification or training, current CPR/BLS certification, a preference for those proficient in EMR systems, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and strong organizational capabilities.
