La creciente influencia de la IA en los mercados laborales de todo el mundo

by Lilit 19 de agosto de 2026

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly altering the employment landscape across major developed economies, with particularly notable impacts on certain professions and entry-level job positions. According to a comprehensive study by Goldman Sachs, AI is not only reshaping how work is done but also influencing the rate of job openings in various sectors. The pressure from AI is prominently felt in industries susceptible to automation such as call centers, software publishing, management consulting, and advertising. The study indicates a discernable slowdown in overall job vacancy growth in sectors with higher automation vulnerability since the second half of 2022. This trend has been especially significant in countries such as Germany, Australia, and the United States. Within these regions, the information and communication services industry, which is among the most affected by AI, has experienced reduced employment growth rates. The reduction is stark within call center segments, where employment figures in the US, Canada, and Germany have fallen below long-term trends by 39%, 33%, and 27%, respectively. Goldman Sachs attributes this to the increasing utilization of labor-automation tools facilitated by AI. Moreover, entry-level workers are witnessing the most severe negative impacts from AI integration. Across over 800 professions analyzed, it is evident that this demographic faces heightened job security risks. The effect is quantified as a reduction in annual employment growth, ranging from over 0.6 percentage points in Australia to more than 0.2 percentage points in the USA. Globally, the adoption of AI is varied, with a prevalence of 15-20% across leading developed economies such as France, the USA, the Netherlands, and the UK. These nations are at the forefront of leveraging AI technology. Conversely, other developed economies like Italy, Japan, and New Zealand exhibit comparatively lower levels of AI penetration. In the context of rapidly developing economies, AI adoption stands at an approximate rate of 10-15%. The differential in AI uptake and its subsequent effect on labor markets underscores the various strategic approaches countries are adopting in response to this transformative technology. Through its analysis, Goldman Sachs emphasizes the already tangible influence AI exerts on global employment statistics. However, this impact is currently concentrated within a relatively limited number of professions and worker categories, suggesting varying levels of adaptation across different sectors and workforce segments.
